RANDOM SAMPLING IN MINITAB

The below example shows how to perform random sampling to a set of data from an excel sheet opened in Minitab:

Choose Calc

Next select Random Data from the list of options

Next select Sample from Columns

We then need to select the number of observations we want in our sample. In this example we type 100 into the Number of Rows to Sample displayed in the top right of the window. We then click on the From Columns panel located below this and select C1 Customer ID from the panel on the left and click Select

Next we need to instruct Minitab where to store the samples generated. Click the Store Samples In panel and type Sample into the panel. Now click OK

Minitab will generate a new column in the worksheet labelled Sample
