CREATING AN INDIVIDUAL VALUE PLOT

INDIVIDUAL VALUE PLOT ANALYSIS EXAMPLE

The below example shows a cookie manufacturer who wanted to analyse the distribution of weight of manufactured cookies from two different production lines. An Individual Value Plot is a useful tool to compare two groups and look at each individual measurement.

To construct an Individual Value Plot in Minitab:

Choose Graph



Select Individual Value Plot from the list


Next, we select the type of Individual Value Plot we want to display. In this case, there are two variables (multiple Ys) that we want to analyse and no grouping so choose Multiple Y Simple and then click OK


Next we want to select the variables to display in the Individual Value Plot, so highlight the names C1 Line 1 and C2 Line 2 as shown in top left corner and then click on the Select button shown below.


Finally, click OK to display the Individual Value Plot
